Controls Engineer/Application Engineer

Mechatronic Solutions is seeking a Application/Systems Engineer for control system support and application of various electromechanical technologies. The candidate shall be experienced in applying technologies that include power distribution, PLC, multi-axis motion control, robotics, sensors, machine vision, machine safety & HMI’s. The candidate must also poses a thorough knowledge of electrical schematics, panel layouts, mechanical systems, and industry standards (NEMA, IEC, ANSI). Knowledge/experience with Omron, Yaskawa, Wago, Eaton, Motoman, STI and IEC61131 programming language is a plus.

*Other responsibilities include*:

*Understanding customer requirements and coming up a with a control system strategy that meets their goals and budget.

*Educating customers on various software platforms.

*Being on-site and a technical lead on first time OEM start-ups.

*Assist outside sales team in closing large project opportunities that have various electrical influence.

*Create programs and lead generating activities that increase new account development and the expansion of our controls products.

*Understand market requirements for current and future products

Desired Skills & Experience

Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience and have a BS or MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with control system emphasis.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed for presentations and interaction with customers.

Light Assembly

Job Description

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.  This person should be able to stay focused and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.  Two or more years of hands-on manufacturing experience preferred but not required. 

Duties Include:

  • Assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems
  • Pull/prep parts for assembly
  • Light fabrication

Required Skills:

  • Ability to use hand and power tools (experience preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently


High School Diploma or GED.

Mechanical Assembly/Fabrication

Job Description

Position Description:

Fabricate and assemble extruded aluminum frames and machinery.  Set-up and operate metal finishing equipment with an emphasis on semi-automatic saws, drill presses, and de-burring machines.  Stage parts for the manufacturing process.  Monitor quality of work processed. Communicate any tooling changes, quality issues, etc. with appropriate people. Perform simple maintenance duties on machines as needed. Assist where needed within the department.        

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic working knowledge of mechanical systems and machinery preferred. Excellent mechanical skills; good speed and accuracy; attention to detail and quality; above average math skills; great attitude and attendance; must be able to lift 40 pounds, stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, twist, and reach. Experience with metal cutting equipment preferred. Should be able to read and interpret shop drawings; would be helpful for the candidate to have experience reading calipers and a tape measure.  Bridgeport setup and use would also be a plus.
