One-Day Machine Safeguarding Skill Builder Workshop

This workshop will introduce the requirements, methods, and practical applications of machine and process safeguarding. Attendees will be introduced to applicable regulatory requirements to help identify and assess machine safety risks, deploy safeguarding concepts based on identified risks and minimize any expenses associated with penalties, fines, and accidents.

  • 10:20 – 10:30 am | Relevant domestic and international standards

  • 10:30 – 11:15 am | A practical approach to risk assessment and risk reduction

  • 11:15 – 12:00 pm | Hierarchy of control/risk reduction strategy

  • 12:00 – 1:00 pm | Lunch (provided) – Open discussion

  • 1:00 –2:00 pm | Guarding technologies and what to specify

  • 2:00 – 3:00 pm | How to meet safety-related control system performance requirements based on risk level

  • 3:00 – 3:30 pm | Q/A, open discussions, and networking
