Smart Pattern Extension For Yaskawa Motoman Smart Pendant

The new Smart Pattern extension for Yaskawa Motoman’s Smart Pendant is a graphical interface that enables the quick development of jobs to handle parts in specific patterns. Smart Pattern’s interface supports common applications that require patterns, including palletizing, stacking/unstacking, case packing, machine loading/unloading, etc.

There are four pattern types:

Smart Pattern provides prompts to easily create two types of jobs. Pattern jobs define a specific pattern and how the robot should move to handle each part in the pattern. Supervisor jobs define which patterns should be used to pick and place parts, as well as the overall flow of the system, including basic I/O signals.

There are typically at least two patterns that are intially generated – one to pick and one to place parts. The user can then create a supervisor job that uses those patterns. Easily customizable, job editing is available to accommodate specific system requirements.

A wide variety of grippers and end-of-arm tooling can be used.
